Rick Swygman
As the Executive Director of Pinecrest Academy, I welcome you to our website and invite you to consider our school as an educational opportunity for your family.
I joined Pinecrest Academy after a nineteen-year career as an executive with Bank of America. It is an honor for me to serve as the Executive Director for such a unique and wonderful school, which has been built on the hard work and unending faith of many in our school community.
Our purpose at Pinecrest is to partner with you to form in your child a Christian leader who will one day positively transform society. We carry out our end of the partnership with a promise to provide integral formation based on personal attention, motivated by love. This means that we attend to the entire person beyond just traditional academic formation, and we do so with a commitment to know and love your child. This is lofty language, but we see the fruits of this mission playing out every day on our campus and among our families. Because of this, and the numerous opportunities for our students to lead, challenge themselves, and grow, we find that by the time they graduate Pinecrest students are uniquely prepared for college and beyond. They are young men and women who are academically strong, possessed of virtue and strong character, convicted of their faith, and with a desire to give of themselves for the good of others and the community.
Pinecrest has grown significantly since our inception in 1993, and we expect similar growth over the next several years. This growth is the result of parents finding here both a culture and an approach to education that fills some of the great voids we encounter in our society. Consequently, both parents and benefactors have provided for the school sacrificially in gratitude for the great educational need our school is addressing. As a result, we expect to be the most compelling educational institution in the Atlanta area in the years to come.
Our purpose is not to make money or grow for the sake of growth. Our purpose is not to just have the highest test scores, realize the most prestigious college acceptances, or have the best athletics or fine arts programs around (though these results have been quite impressive since the inception of our high school in 2003). Our purpose is simply to focus on and commit to the complete formation of every single student at Pinecrest Academy – in partnership with you – so that each child has the best chance to become the person Christ has called him or her to be.
I invite you to visit us and consider becoming a part of our wonderful community.
In Christ, Mr. Rick G. Swygman Executive Director
